Ag Media Summit Wrap-up

Ag Media Summit, OmniGraffle Blackboard

The 2010 Ag Media Summit in St. Paul, MN provided an opportunity for agricultural writers, editors, and journalists to discover new ideas, renew past friendships, and develop connections to improve agriculture media for its audience. While there were no formal structured conference media captures, attendees with social/new media tools and a willingness to share provide several resource from which to get a sense of the flavor of the event. Below are some of those contributions.

• The Twitter hash tag for the event was #AgMS; Truffle captured the raw #AgMS Twitter stream and Squawq (Colle+McVoy) provided some analysis (PDF report via Dan Mandle!).
• Several presentations were captured and streamed via Ustream.
• Of note were several sessions: Al Tompkins of the Poynter Institute (lots of tips and resources); Writing From The Heart by Jeffrey Zaslow (great story vignettes); Tools & Toys of Leadership and Success with Steve Drake (part 1 and part 2); and Redesign On A Dime.
• Many, many pictures were taken.
• Personal observations/opinions from attendees were made (Ag Media Summit Fun – Minneapolis Worth the Wait!).
