Conversation with Sarah Hubbart, Director for Communications for the Animal Agriculture Alliance.
- What is the focus for the Animal Agriculture Alliance?
- In May the Animal Ag Alliance will be holding its 10th Stakeholders Summit. Can you share with us what this year's theme is?
- Some of the presentations include "The Truth about Sustainability – Debunking 'Livestock’s Long Shadow'" , "Activist Campaigns & Tactics – Hidden Influences", and "Innovative Campaigns to Improve Ag’s Image " These seem to imply there is a need to help educate or inform agri-professionals and those not in agriculture. What do you expect the attendees to take away from these types of seminars?
- An often cited number is that approximately 1.5% of the US population is directly involved in food agriculture production. Contrast that to everyone eats. So most American's connection to agriculture is not through a farm operation but through Kroger, Publix, Walmart, and Whole Foods. What other presentations during the Summit will help those in ag connect with non-ag people?
- What other activities, programs, and conferences does the Animal Ag Alliance work on though out the year?
